Since his emergence on the political space in 1999 when he was elected councilor representing Amapu Ntigha Ward 5 in the Isiala Ngwa North Legislative Council, RT. Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe has steadily been climbing the ladder of leadership. His colleagues elected him Leader of the Forum of Councilors in the state and later he became the leader of council in isiala Ngwa North legislative council.

Ahead of his time and peers, and a prodigy, Rt. Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, member representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly will celebrate his 54th B-Day tomorrow, Friday, May 1st, 2026, being Worker’s Day.

He functioned consecutively as Transition Committee (TC) Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area. He acquainted himself creditably. Thereafter, he tested his popularity and acceptability by contesting election as the Executive Chairman of the council. By popular mandate of the people he coasted to victory.

Rt. Hon. Ginger Onwusibe whose campaign mantra has been “EXPECTMORE,” in 2019 again won election to represent Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly. A man with streaks of electoral victories anchored on his credible and quality service delivery to the people in all the offices he has held, Ginger Onwusibe inspite of stiff opposition defeated his rivals with overwhelming majority and thus was elected to represent Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the banner of Labour Party (LP).

Confident, focused, goal oriented, hard working and with vast network of contacts, the maverick politician, a first timer, was appointed the Chairman of a strategic Committee – Committee on Financial Crimes.

In less than three years in office, Rt. Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe at the risk of being immodest, has availed the people of Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency effective and quality representation as never before since 1999. Even beyond legislation, his good works are visibly felt by his constituents.

A glean on the activities of this vibrant, articulate and and visionary federal law maker reveals that two bills sponsored by him have been passed. They’re:

• A bill to establish a College of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition in Isiala Ngwa.
• A bill to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Isiala Ngwa.
  He is the arrowhead and sponsor of a bill for the creation of Aba State.

Motions moved by the people-centric federal legislator include:

• A motion to resuscitate the Nsulu Games Village.
• A motion to address the devastating gully erosion menace on Umuosu – Nbawsi Road.
• An urgent motion to investigate the shooting of a constituent, Mr. Nkemjika Nwogu by Nigerian Navy personnel on February 15, 2024.
• A motion to review down ward the exorbitant tuition fee at the Nigerian Law School.
• A motion seeking a political solution to the incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his release to restore peace in the Southeast region.

In addition to his main legislative duties, Rt. Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe has been upbeat and careful for his constituents with the provision of a multiplicity of projects many of which have been completed and others on going. He also stands tall in empowering his constituents, particularly the vulnerable, widows, youths, students and the elderly.

Prominent among the completed projects include but not limited to the following: The Ubaha Nsulu and Amiri Ovoji Primary Health Centres, two halls/ICT centres at Umunko and Umunka Amapu Ntigha, Ichi village hall, class room blocks at Umuojima Okporocha Secondary, Aga, Amauzu Okpuala Ngwa and Ohuhu-Nsulu Primary Schools, solar powered street lights at Amapu Ntigha and market stalls at Agbaragwu and Naobi.

Rt. Hon. Ginger Onwusibe has remained steadfast in empowering his constituents in diverse areas. Youths have been trained in Information/Technology as well as in soap making, cream production, paint manufacturing and other vocations. Five hundred undergraduates were awarded bursary of ₦50,000 each, even as another 1000 select constituents from different communities received ₦50,000 each.

The innumerable empowerment package of the altruistic grassroots politician was crowned on February 14, 2026, with the disbursement of items worth billions of naira doled out to his constituents.
