An Abia APC chieftain and the General overseer of……., Bishop Emeka Nwankpa has reacted to a recent report of the arrest and interrogation of Senator Tanko Al–Makura and wife by the Economic Financial crimes commission (EFCC) over corruption related case, assuring the former Governor and his family of his support and solidarity during this period of his trials.
In a release Made available to newsmen, Bishop Nwankpa said though he has implicit confidence in the ability of the anti graft agency to do a thorough and comprehensive investigation on the matter, but however maintained that Senator Al–Makura has shown integrity and honesty in the discharge of his duties, right from his days as Governor of Nasawara State which explains largely why his people unanimously voted him to the Senate, adding that having been vindicated in previous related allegations by various anti Graft agencies in the country, he’s certainly confident that he will still scale through this present hurdle as well, saying there’s no cause for alarm.
He noted with nostalgia his long standing relationship with the senator, describing him as a man of integrity, honesty, forthrightness and transparent, who have shown selflessness over the years in both private and public assignments.
He therefore used the occasion to call on the EFCC to ensure that his fundamental human rights are not trampled upon while he’s been investigated and expressed optimism that the former Governor will come out clean and strong from the matter.
“I don’t want to be preemptive, however, I’m certain that it will all end in praise. It’s just a storm in a tea cup”, Bishop Nwankpa concludes.
