HAPPY B-DAY To A SHINNING STAR, CYRIL CHINONSO ISHMAEL

In all sincerity he was not begat with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth. But by dint of hardwork, perseverance, determination, resilience and focus, he has by the grace of God climbed up the ladder of life to the extent that he dines with kings. The young turk is still on the upward mobile swing.
The shining star is no other person than precocious and forward looking Engr. (Sir) Cyril Chinonso Ishmael, a native of Obikabia, Nnanji automous community, Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State, Nigeria.

A graduate of Chemical/Petro-Chemical Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Masters in Oil and Gas Engineering from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland, Cyril Ishmael did not allow his seeming low family background to overwhelm him.
As a teenager, the industrious lad elected to serve as a sales boy in the Chemist/Provision Shop of his mother pending his gaining admission into higher institution. Pious and a dedicated Christian, Cyril Ishmael, a service oriented person became Pastor of the Christian Fellowship. He was also elected Speaker, Students Representatives Council and aspired to be President of the Students Union Government (SUG).

A stickler for justice, the purist students leader in defence of the rights of his fellow students was incarcerated in Port Harcourt Prison by the school authorities which prompted a legal action by the students. At last, justice was served with the discharge and acquittal of the patriotic students union leader and the implementation of the demand of the students.

Altruistic Cyril Chinonso Ishmael founded IMPACT GROUP, an academic service outfit that provided free tutorials to students across the campus. Service personified, he joined the Junior Chamber International (JCI), a global federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs where he functioned in different capacities till he rose to the apex as Senator (Life member of JCI).

Focused with his eyes always on the prize, before his call up for National Youth Service, energetic Cyril Chinonso Ishmael joined a Printing Press in Port Harcourt as an apprentice. Thereafter, he set up GenX Press also in the Rivers State capital. GenX Press has flourished for more than 15 years now.

Engr. Cyril Chinonso Ishmael later sojourned to the United States of America (USA) and enlisted into the US Navy. Diligent and most effective, he distinguished himself in the service of the US Navy.

For his meritorious leadership roles, he earned several honours and awards. Among the awards are:
*Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal.
*Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
*Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and;
*2018/2016 Sailor of the Year. At present, he serves in the US Navy Reserve and has garnered a Top Secret Clearance, a testament to his integrity and how legitimate all his ventures have been in the US.
An enterprising business mogul, Sir Cyril Chinonso Ishmael is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Safehands Services LLC, an Auto Service Company which has since diversified into Real Estate.

Knight of the Anglican Communion, he has continued to play pivotal role in the development of the Church across denominations. Widows, the youth and the vulnerable in his Obikabia country home and beyond, have severally benefitted from his philanthropy.
In the same vein, he organizes seminars and workshops all at his own cost to mentor budding young entrepreneurs to equip them global best practices in business.

As one of the keynote speakers at the recent grand civic reception organized in honour of Governor Alex Otti by the people of Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, he promised to hold a business talkshop in Abia State to attract foreign investors to assist calibrate the development of the state.

Staunch supporter of Governor Alex Otti and his administration and a loyal party man, Sir Cyril Ishmael aspired to be the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North local government in 2024 under the banner of the ruling Labour Party (LP) in the state but backed out when pressurized by major stakeholders of his party.
The urbane business magnate and grassroots politician last year bagged an EXCELLENCE PERFORMANCE AWARD 2024 by the Forum Of Civil Society Organizations For Democracy In Nigeria (FCSODGGN).

By the grace of God, this shinning star, an embodiment of service and a politician to watch, Engr. (Sir) Cyril Chinonso Ishmael is plus one today. On call of duty to the United States, he is marking his birthday quietly.
