As I write to you all today, my heart swells with a mix emotions – nostalgia, concern and hope. As a proud alumnus of Ntigha Secondary Grammar School (1983 set) an institution that shaped my formative years and laid the foundation for my future successes.
However, my joy is tempered by the devastating occurance of the burning of the laboratory block during the 2023 general election by unidentified hoodlums which have left the school community reeling. It is with a sense of urgency and responsibility that I appeal to the government and philanthropist to join hands in rebuilding this critical infrastructure.
Ntigha Secondary Grammar School has been a beacon of education in Isiala ngwa north local government area producing notable individuals both in government and private sector amongst who is the gubernatorial candidate of the people’s democratic party in the 2023 general election, Chief Okey Ahiwe.
Generations of students have walked through its gates , eager to learn , grow and make a positive impact in the world. The school’s commitment to academic excellence, character development , and community service has earned it a reputation as a nurturing ground for future leaders . The fire that ravaged the laboratory block of the school has dealt a severe blow to the school infrastructure and morale. The loss of this critical facility has disrupted the academic routine, causing inconvenience to the students, teachers and parents as the West Africa examination council had threatened to move the students to another school for their examination due to the absence of a functional laboratory.
The emotional toll on the school community cannot be overstated, as the burnt block hold memories of countless lessons , laughter and milestone. In this hour of need, I urge our elected, appointed representative and our amiable philanthropist to come forward to seeing that the laboratory block is reconstructed. The rebuilding/reconstruction of the laboratory block is not just a matter of bricks and mortar; it is an investment in the future of our children and our community.
Together we can rebuild/reconstruct that burnt laboratory block and other dilapidated buildings in NSGS, Let us come together to create a beacon of hope, a symbol of community spirit , and a testament to the power of collective action. I know that our Honourable member representing Isiala Ngwa north and south in national assembly has been doing so much in the constituents recently, nonetheless the importance of this critical infrastructure should be given the desired attention . I await your response and look forward to seeing that the students, teachers and parents of Ntigha Secondary Grammar School will have cause to smile again.
Thank you and God bless us all .
