OUK’S PLAN TO RESUSCITATE SLOK AIRLINE A WELCOME DEVELOPMENT

Published By NgwaFactsNews Media Reporters.

Recently, the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Aviation and Aviation Technology interrogated the Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo and the Chief Accounting Officers of agencies under the Ministry. The investigative session by the House Joint Committee was sequel to resolutions passed on Tuesday, May 21, 2924, where the lower legislative chamber expressed concern over the competence of the nation’s airports.

The primary objective of the investigative session was on enhancing the accountability and competence of airports in the country. Addressing the Aviation Minister, heads of agencies and directors of the aviation industry, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, Abdullahi Garba stated that airports as national assets must be managed efficiently to avoid unmitigated damages. To this end, he pointed out that airports should be handled by experts for the purpose of safety and economic development.
The House Committee Chairman concluded by saying; “As parliament we are worried about the functionality of the infrastructure and all the technical equipment available in all the country’s airports.”. Part of the concern of the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Aviation and Aviation Technology touched on flight cancellation and late departure.

As a key player in the aviation industry, the Senate Committee Chairman on Privitalization, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (MON) is in total agreement with the sentiments of the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Aviation and Aviation Technology for the need for improvement in the industry. Well traveled and prompter of SLOK Airline, the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly is of the view that airline operators should prioritize the welfare of their passengers

According to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, for a long time now, Nigerian airline passengers have faced challenges such as delayed flights, poor customer service and inadequate facilities. Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu therefore noted that ensuring the well-being of air travelers should be a non-negotiable commitment.

Against the hindsight of experience, the billionaire Senator has set the machinery in motion to resuscitate SLOK Airline with a promise that its operations will be rooted in excellence, safety and customer care. This is a welcome development.

Welcome development because reviving SLOK Airline will create job opportunities for the unemployed in our society. The repackaged airline will as well contribute to the growth and development of the aviation industry and be in the forefront of addressing the challenges identified by its owner as inimical for a thriving aviation industry.

Welcome on board SLOK Airline. We look forward to passengers enjoying scheduled flight, safety and comfort in the revitalised and rebranded airline.

LET’S KEEP HOPE ALIVE WITH OUK.
