And if empathy is to gain a deeper understanding of the ability to recognise and share the feelings and perspective of others, the former two term Governor of Abia State Chief Orji Uzor Kalu is a very perfect example of an empathetic leader.
Down to earth and always identifying with the masses, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s feeling of empathy enable him to connect with others on a deeper and personal level. A phenomenal philanthropist, the ranking Senator’s empathy in leadership propels him to practice to prioritise the well-being of others . His genuine care and concern for the down trodden citizens of the society has earned the performing Senator the trust and mutual respect of the people.
His empathetic endeavours, to state the obvious,has provided comfort and emotional relief to Nigerians in distress and not only his constituents of Abia North Senatorial District. Senator Uzor Kalu puts himself in the shoes of others in their difficult times and emotional distresses.
Recently at Abuja, the Distinguished Senator communicated empathy during the annual commemoration of World Orphan Day and Fundraising for the Chadash Empowerment Foundation, a non-gover mental organisation powered by Mrs. Temitope Adeola, wife of the law maker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola.
At the event, which was graced by the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Tanko Sununu, Senator Ali Ndume and other eminent personalities, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in his characteristic empathy for the poor, made a passionate appeal on their behalf by rallying support for them.
He called on his fellow elite and privileged citizens in the country to support orphans, widows and vulnerable persons in the society.
The law maker representing the good people of Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly lauded Mrs Temitope Adeola, founder of Chadash Empowerment Foundation for her initiative , pointing out that she is serving humanity through her organisation. Senator Uzor Kalu also urged other well meaning Nigerians to emulate Mrs. Temitope Adeola.
Also, Senator Uzor Kalu empathized with the Army Chief, the Nigerian Army and families of the three soldiers killed by unidentified gunmen at a checkpoint at Umuopara, Umuahia South local government area of Abia State.
Self-compassioned and empathetic Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who condemned the killing of the soldiers, pledged for orphans and widows of the fallen army men.
