WHO IS AFRAID OF CHUKU WACHUKU?
By Hon. Achilihu Destiny
By every dint of imagination, Chief Chuku Wachuku, a Leading contender under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial primaries slated for Saturday, May 21, 2022, parades a surfeit of intimidating credentials.
Undoubtedly, his towering profile dwarfs that of other aspirants eyeing the Abia Central Senatorial District seat come 2023. A peep into his privileged background, education, pedigree, antecedents, socio-economic and political contacts and networking, will lend credence to the point we are trying to figure out.
A statesman, noble Prince, grassroots politician and American trained Economist, Chief Chuku Wachuku, popularly called Dee Chuku, contested the Governorship election in Abia State in 2007 under the banner of the Labour Party (LP). He was also a Special Delete to the National Conference in 2014 where he represented the South-East geo-politi zone on the recommendation of the Abia State Government.
The implication of the above is that Chief Chuku Wachuku is not only only a household name in the State but a brand and a marketable aspirant and candidate to win the Abia Central Senatorial Zone seat for the PDP. It for this reason that delegates of the party should do the needful and give Chief Chuku Wachuku their mandate on May 21, 2022 to be the PDP flag bearer for Abia Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections.
In fact, he is the only chance for PDP to win the Senatorial elections, given the fact that Umunneato is predominantly PDP compared to the other aspirants whose LGAs are predominantly APC.

In addition, multiple national award winning Chuku Wachuku, a man of honour and integrity has acquitted himself creditably in the various positions he held in the past.
Is it as the pioneer Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), the Chairman, Governorning Council of Abia State University, Uturu,
Abia State Polytechnic, Aba,
Consultant for the International Labour Organisation,(ILO) on Employee Welfare and Industrial Relations,
board member, Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN),
National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure among others?
Chief Chuku Wachuku, a thorough bred technocrat and management expert has impacted positively on Abians and Nigerians and made tremendous contributions to the development of the society.
It is for the above that those who are afraid of service oriented Chuku Wachuku are trumping up baseless argument that since the next Governor of the State is likely to come from Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, Chief Chuku Wachuku should die his aspiration to represent Abia Central Senatorial District come 2023. The logic is not tenable.
That the Governorship position may have been ceded to Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area is not the reason why the Senate or House of Representative seat should be forfeited. It is rather a healthy development and coincidence made possible by Providence and should not be allowed to slip. What is more,. Chief Chuku Wachuku is by all standards eminently qualified and suited for the the Senate seat.
Therefore, those who are afraid of Chuku Wachuku should instead of embarking on excersise in futility, embrace the facts on ground and drum up support for him as s the PDP select her Senatorial touch bearers on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
For the sake of natural justice and fair play, and following the order of succession since 1999, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government should as a matter of necessity be allowed to produce the Senator for Abia Central in 2023. Chief Chuku Wachuku is enough for the Senate for now.
This can only be made possible by delegates to the primaries. We therefore passionately appeal to them to give their vote to Chuku Wachuku.
